Food Assistance

ReSources Vail Food Bank serves participants in need of food assistance who are often in temporary crisis and need a little help to get over the hurdle.

  • A family whose breadwinner is out of work and has no income
  • Individuals or families who are experiencing an unexpected income drain, such as a medical crisis, and need supplemental food supplies
  • families experiencing challenges associated with separation or divorce.
  • Individuals experiencing homelessness or living with disabilities
  • Participants referred from other organizations

Regardless of the reason for needing assistance ReSources Vail Food Bank is here to help. All this is made possible through the support and donations of the community, a partnership with the Community Foodbank of Southern Arizona, and local grocery rescue partners.

New Participants

The Emergency Food Program provides households with an income at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level with access to food every week.

Once a month, participants are eligible to receive a “Monthly TEFAP Visit,” which will include protein, fresh produce, shelf-stable items, bread, deli, and bakery items (as long as we have been able to source these items at the time of the visit). When possible, a hygiene item will be included. Baby and adult diapers are often available by request. These items can only be requested for a person in the household. Households with pets can request pet food if there is some on hand.

Weekly “Pantry Visits” are available for Emergency Food clients. Pantry visits typically include bread, fresh produce, and bakery items but will vary from week to week depending on donations to the food bank.

The Commodity Senior Food Program (CSFP) provides an extra monthly food box for qualifying adults aged 60 and over. Household income is at or below 130% of the federal poverty level.
